Ford has had a mixed 2020 marred by industry disruptions caused by the COVID-19 pandemic but also undergoing some radical internal changes and a new strategy of focusing on electric vehicles (EVs) and autonomous vehicles (AVs). Jim Hackett made way for new CEO James Farley who has already committed a $22 billion investment in EVs at least $7 billion in AVs with the goal of commercializing AVs by 2022. The company delivered mixed results throughout 2020 and faces concerns related to the outsourcing of its lithium-ion battery manufacturing process. However, its new launches have done well and the pickup truck market continues to be its driver of growth in the future.
