Visa Inc. had a strong fiscal third quarter as payments volume, process transactions and cross-border volume, all shot up across the globe. The company has been in the news for its announcement to acquire Tink, an open banking platform that allows companies to gain access to financial data from a large range of banks through a single API connection, for $2.1 billion. This move is an indicator of the company’s entry into open banking. It is worth highlighting that Visa has already achieved excellent success in the crypto wallet business as the company has 50+ crypto wallets and platforms, improved from 35 in the first quarter. The management is renewing and expanding its partnership with several large industry players. Recently they renewed their partnership with the US’s largest credit union, Navy Federal Credit Union and Southeast Asia’s largest bank, DBS. The management believes that domestic and cross-border travel will significantly improve their growth in the next quarters. We are optimistic about Visa and give it a ‘Buy’ rating with a revised target price.
