FedEx Supply Chain SOLD To CMA CGM: Will This Restructuring Effort Work?

FedEx Corp. has moved another step deeper into portfolio simplification after CMA CGM Group agreed to acquire FedEx Supply Chain at a $1.4 billion enterprise value. The transaction, announced on July 1, 2026 and expected to close in 2026 subject to regulatory approvals, would transfer the business into CMA CGM’s CEVA Logistics platform while preserving a broader commercial relationship between the two companies. For FedEx, the deal is not just about exiting a contract logistics asset. It follows the June 1 spin-off of FedEx Freight and fits management’s stated shift toward higher-value transportation verticals such as healthcare, automotive, aerospace, and data centers. FedEx also expects to enter into phased ocean and air agreements with CMA CGM through 2028, giving it a way to streamline ownership while still improving customer solutions across global supply chains.
