Wolfspeed Unlocks A New SiC Opportunity As Hyperscalers Shift Toward 800 Volts!
Wolfspeed, Inc. reported fourth-quarter fiscal 2026 revenue of $150 million, in line with the midpoint of guidance. The company continued its strategic transformation through leadership changes, recapitalization, a more customer-focused sales strategy, and renewed emphasis on silicon carbide power technology. Although the transformation remains early, management indicated greater confidence in the company’s path toward profitability as strategic initiatives progress. AI data center revenue more than doubled year-over-year and increased 20% sequentially. Growth was supported by design wins with power supply companies serving hyperscalers, particularly around 800-volt architectures that require greater SiC content. Wolfspeed also sees opportunities in solid-state transformers, battery backup units, supercapacitors, e-fuses, and high-voltage DC-DC conversion systems. Its vertically integrated 200-millimeter manufacturing platform is intended to support these emerging markets. Technology milestones included commercial readiness for fifth-generation SiC MOSFETs and a 10-kilovolt MOSFET, with applications across automotive, industrial, data center, aerospace, and defense markets.
