Wyndham Hotels & Resorts’ 18,000 Room Expansion — Why Did Revenue Fall 6%?
Wyndham Hotels & Resorts, Inc. reported second quarter 2026 results characterized by continued expansion and mixed revenue trends, reflecting both favorable and challenging factors across its global operations. The company opened a record nearly 18,000 rooms during the quarter, a 7% increase year-over-year, driving net room growth domestically and internationally along with a pipeline reaching approximately 261,000 rooms. This development added higher-fee premium properties, boosting overall quality and mix. U.S. RevPAR (revenue per available room) grew 2%, outperforming expectations by a significant margin, underpinned by both occupancy and average daily rate growth, with stronger demand seen particularly in the three largest U.S. states—Texas, California, and Florida—and in industrial Midwest markets benefiting from infrastructure projects. Weekend and drive-to leisure travel contributed positively to these results.
