Vista Energy: Advanced Drilling Is Delivering Big—Is Productivity Surging Faster Than Expected?
Vista Oil & Gas showcased a strong operational and financial performance in the third quarter of 2025. The company’s production levels reached 127,000 barrels of oil equivalent (BOE) per day, marking a 74% increase year-over-year and a 7% rise from the previous quarter. Oil production itself was reported at 110,000 barrels per day, reflecting interannual and sequential improvements of 73% and 7%, respectively. The heightened production was primarily attributed to improved well productivity and new well tie-ins in areas like Bajada del Palo Oeste and La Amarga Chica. The company’s revenues for the quarter hit $706 million, which signifies a 53% increase compared to the same period in the previous year and a 16% growth from the preceding quarter. A notable reduction in the lifting cost to $4.4 per BOE, which decreased by 6% year-over-year, further supports the company’s efficiency improvements.
