Brookfield Renewable Eyes Boralex: The $6.5 Billion Renewable Platform Play!
Brookfield Renewable Partners reported robust first quarter 2026 financial results, demonstrating growth across its diversified renewable energy portfolio. The company generated funds from operations (FFO) of $375 million, reflecting a 19% year-over-year increase and a 15% rise on a per unit basis to $0.55. Over the past twelve months, FFO totaled $1.394 billion, up 13% overall and 12% per unit compared to the prior year. These results benefit from a combination of organic growth, acquisitions, and capital recycling initiatives. Operationally, Brookfield Renewable brought 1.8 gigawatts of new renewable capacity online during the quarter and contracted an additional 1.7 gigawatts from its advanced development pipeline. The company’s hydroelectric segment contributed $210 million in FFO, with strong performance in Canadian and Colombian operations offsetting weaker hydrology in U.S. assets.
