FTI Consulting’s Restructuring Surge: Can It Keep Riding the LME Wave to Grow?
FTI Consulting has reported its second quarter 2025 earnings in a detailed discussion led by CEO Steve Gunby and CFO Ajay Sabherwal, which unveiled a mixed performance amidst challenging market conditions. The company, a global business advisory firm, faced several headwinds but displayed resilience through strategic investments and diversified business operations. FTI Consulting’s overall revenues for the quarter were $943.7 million, compared to $949.2 million in the prior year. The company witnessed a sequential revenue increase of 5.1% from the first quarter of 2025. However, earnings per share (EPS) declined from $2.34 in the same quarter last year to $2.13, despite an increase from $1.74 in the previous quarter. The decline in net income, down from $83.9 million to $71.7 million year-over-year, was attributed to lower revenues, increased direct costs, and an elevated effective tax rate, although some offsets came from reduced SG&A expenses.
