Strategy Owns 847,000 Bitcoin—But Is The Tower Getting Wobbly?
Strategy is back in the spotlight after buying more Bitcoin, but the bigger story is no longer just the size of its crypto hoard. The company purchased 520 Bitcoin for about $34.9 million between June 15 and June 21, taking total holdings to 847,363 Bitcoin at an average acquisition cost of roughly $75,651 per coin. That is an extraordinary corporate treasury position, but it also sits inside a capital structure that has become increasingly complex. Strategy now depends on common stock issuance, preferred equity, dividend obligations, Bitcoin-backed investor confidence, and the market value premium of its own shares. Its preferred stock vehicle, STRC, has become a central funding tool, but its drop below the $100 target price and spike in effective yield have raised questions about whether the Bitcoin machine is simply slowing down or becoming structurally harder to operate.
