Schneider National’s $1.10 EPS Reset: Is The Freight Cycle Finally Turning?

Schneider National reported second quarter 2026 revenues of $1.3 billion (excluding fuel surcharges), marking a 4% increase year-over-year. Adjusted income from operations rose 29% to $73 million, with adjusted diluted earnings per share of $0.29 compared to $0.21 in the same period last year. The company’s adjusted operating ratio improved by 110 basis points from the prior year, reflecting gains across all business segments supported by ongoing cost-saving initiatives and productivity enhancements. In its Truckload segment, revenues (excluding fuel surcharges) reached $628 million, up 1% year-over-year, driven by a 5% increase in revenue per truck per week, offsetting a lower truck count due to tightened driver availability. Operating income rose 28% to $51 million with an improved operating ratio of 91.8%, the best performance since 2023. Truckload benefited from robust pricing initiatives, including increased spot exposure and freight selection technology, despite network tractor count declines.
