Shift4 Payments’ Hidden Growth Engine: International Revenue Surges 51%!
Shift4 Payments, Inc. reported first-quarter 2026 results reflecting growth amid global challenges, notably the Middle East conflict’s disruption to travel. The company’s diversified business model demonstrated resilience, delivering gross revenues of $1.12 billion, growing 32% year-over-year. Gross revenue less network fees (GRLNF) increased 49% year-over-year to $549 million, aligning with prior guidance. Adjusted EBITDA rose 39% to $234 million, representing a 43% margin, while adjusted free cash flow grew 26% to $88 million, modestly exceeding expectations. Organic growth, excluding acquisitions, showed an 11% increase in GRLNF despite a deliberate decline in legacy revenue streams. Payments-based revenue less network fees grew 25% overall with a 15% increase in the Americas and a significant 51% growth internationally. The expansion outside the Americas is supporting the company’s stated goal to scale internationally, with new markets such as Europe showing meaningful progress.
