Champion Homes’ Latest Acquisition Signals A Bigger Retail Power Play!
Champion Homes has moved to deepen its direct-to-consumer strategy by entering into a definitive agreement to acquire assets from Homes Direct, representing 11 retail locations across Arizona, California, Colorado, New Mexico and Oregon. The deal, expected to close in Champion’s fiscal second quarter of 2027 subject to customary conditions, comes shortly after the company reported fiscal 2026 results that included a record 26,622 homes sold since its 2018 public listing. Management said the acquired locations generate approximately $70 million in annualized revenue and would lift Champion’s U.S. company-owned retail store count to 95. The timing is notable because Champion is navigating affordability pressure, input-cost inflation, and mixed channel demand while still seeing manufactured housing as a practical response to the broader U.S. housing shortage. Homes Direct gives Champion a larger Western footprint, added customer access, and a platform to push more production through nearby plants.
