Sterling Buyout Move: The Stone Ridge Deal Investors Can’t Ignore!
Sterling Infrastructure has moved deeper into its fastest-growing business line with the June 9, 2026 acquisition of Stone Ridge Contracting, a Pocatello, Idaho-based site development contractor that will become part of its E-Infrastructure Solutions segment. The deal follows a strong first quarter in which Sterling reported 92% revenue growth, adjusted diluted EPS growth of 120%, adjusted EBITDA margin expansion to 20%, and a major increase in backlog visibility across data centers, semiconductor campuses, manufacturing, and other mission-critical projects. Stone Ridge is expected to generate $180 million to $200 million of full-year 2026 revenue with EBITDA margins in the mid-teens, while Sterling plans to update its 2026 guidance after the second-quarter report to reflect the partial-year contribution. The acquisition also fits management’s stated preference for deals that add talent, geographic reach, customer relationships, and site development capacity.
