Suncor Energy’s second quarter of 2026 presented a mixed operational environment marked by unprecedented weather challenges and continued improvements in productivity and financial performance. The company experienced record precipitation levels in the Fort McMurray region, adversely impacting mining productivity and reducing production by an estimated 50,000 to 60,000 barrels per day for the quarter.
