Crown Holdings’ $3.7 Billion Quarter — Can Surging Can Demand Offset Rising Costs?
Crown Holdings reported third quarter 2026 results showing growth in earnings per share and net sales, driven primarily by increased global beverage can shipments. Reported diluted earnings per share rose to $2.08 from $1.85 year-over-year, with adjusted earnings per diluted share increasing 7% to $2.39 compared to the prior-year quarter. Net sales grew to $3.7 billion, up from $3.2 billion, reflecting higher beverage can volumes and the ability to pass through elevated material costs, although currency translation negatively impacted results by $8 million. Global beverage can volumes advanced over 6% in the quarter, with notable double-digit growth in Asia, 6% in North America, and 4% in Europe. Segment income was slightly lower at $484 million versus $490 million a year earlier, impacted by inflationary pressures notably arising from the ongoing Middle East conflict, which affected operating costs by approximately $17 million for the quarter.
