Garmin Ltd.’s recent earnings call revealed both encouraging developments and some challenges for the company. The company set a new fourth-quarter revenue record at over $2.1 billion, marking an increase of 17% from the prior year and a reiteration of strong demand for its diverse line of products. Garmin reported double-digit growth in three of its business segments, contributing to a full-year revenue of $7.25 billion, up 15% year-over-year and establishing a new annual record. Operating margins improved slightly, with the fourth-quarter operating margin growing by 60 basis points to 28.9%. Garmin’s management attributed the strong performance to their diversified business model that has consistently emphasized market diversification and innovation. The company’s fitness segment, which benefited from heightened interest in wearables, grew 33% over the year to $2.36 billion.
