Pearson is extending its push into enterprise learning and skills verification through its agreement to acquire Workera, an AI-native skills intelligence platform that helps organizations assess, validate, and develop workforce capabilities. The transaction, announced in September 2026 and expected to close in the second half of the year subject to customary conditions, comes as Pearson is reporting stronger momentum across its Enterprise Learning & Skills operations. During the first half of 2026, the division generated 7% underlying revenue growth, supported by vocational qualifications and continued expansion in Enterprise Solutions, while management highlighted rising corporate demand for AI upskilling and certification. Pearson has also secured certification relationships with major technology companies and a leading AI lab, reinforcing its focus on becoming a broader verification infrastructure provider. Workera could add a complementary measurement layer by combining AI, psychometrics, adaptive assessments, and role-specific simulations to identify and validate employee skills at scale.
