STMicroelectronics: The Stress Test Is Fab Utilization Not The 41% Communications Revenue Surge!
STMicroelectronics reported first quarter 2026 net revenues of $3.1 billion, reflecting solid performance across multiple end markets and regions. This figure included $40 million in revenues from the newly acquired MEMS sensor business of NXP, completed in February. Excluding this acquisition impact, sequential net revenues were above the midpoint of guidance, supported notably by Personal Electronics as well as Communication Equipment and Computer Peripherals segments. Year-over-year growth was present in most sectors, with Automotive revenues increasing 15%, Industrial rising 26%, Personal Electronics up 21%, and Communications and Computer Peripherals advancing 41%.
