TE Connectivity’s $1.4 Billion Buyout Targets A Larger Power Market!
TE Connectivity entered a new phase of portfolio expansion after announcing an agreement to acquire Astrodyne TDI for approximately $1.4 billion from Tinicum L.P. The transaction, expected to close by the end of calendar 2026 subject to customary conditions, would add more than $250 million in annual sales and place Astrodyne within TE’s Industrial Solutions segment. The announcement accompanied a strong fiscal third quarter, during which TE reported $5.2 billion in sales, record orders of $5.7 billion, adjusted earnings per share of $2.94, and approximately $2.2 billion in year-to-date free cash flow. Management described Astrodyne as a strategic bolt-on that would broaden TE’s power-filtering and customized power-supply capabilities across semiconductor equipment, defense, medical, and other mission-critical applications. The deal also fits TE’s broader strategy of serving rising data and power requirements across AI infrastructure, industrial automation, aerospace, transportation, utilities, and data-center power systems worldwide.
