CVS delivered yet another solid quarter backed by increased revenues from specialty pharmacy sales and digitization. The company’s pharmacy segment as well as healthcare benefits segment showed a decent growth and there was a continuing increase in Covid-19 testing as well as vaccinations. CVS Health’s digitization efforts are highly futuristic and innovative as they are looking to cover a broad spectrum of pharma care. Apart from the online pharmacy option, it is also allowing consumers to book Covid-19 tests and vaccinations online and has recently forayed into the telehealth domain. The management’s Transform Health 2030 plan involves having 65 billion health care interactions by 2030 and video visits is expected to be critical for this goal. It has already announced that MinuteClinic is offering video visits for patients across 47 American states. CVS is obviously not commanding the valuation multiples as telehealth giants which is why we see a strong upside and give it a ‘Buy’ rating.
