Landstar System Adds 68 BCO Trucks: Is Network Stability Returning?
Landstar System, Inc. reported second quarter results marked by revenue growth and operational resilience amid challenging insurance and claims conditions. The company experienced an 18% year-over-year increase in revenue, supported by both higher revenue per truckload and growth in loads hauled by trucks, surpassing typical pre-pandemic seasonality. Particularly, Landstar’s heavy haul service segment showed notable strength with an 18% increase in revenue driven by a 9% volume uplift and an 8% revenue-per-load gain. The net number of Business Capacity Owner (BCO) trucks increased by 68 during the quarter, the strongest addition since early 2022, alongside a declining turnover rate, contributing to improved network stability. Safety metrics remain a key focus for Landstar, with an accident frequency rate of 0.62 DOT reportable accidents per million miles during the first half of 2026, better than the national average and prior year periods, reflecting the company’s ongoing commitment to a safety-first culture.
