Saia, Inc. reported second quarter 2026 results marked by record revenues and operational progress amid ongoing investments in network expansion and service capability. The company achieved $956.5 million in revenue, a 17.1% increase year-over-year and the highest quarterly revenue in company history. Shipments per workday increased 4.4%, with tonnage per workday up 8.4%, reflecting growth in demand and improved freight mix, as weight per shipment rose 3.9% year-over-year. Adjusted for mix and length of haul changes, core yield excluding fuel surcharge improved approximately 3%, while revenue per shipment excluding fuel surcharge rose 1.5%, supported by pricing actions and mix management. Operating income increased 26% to $125 million, with the operating ratio improving to 86.9% from 87.8% a year ago, reflecting a positive leverage of volume growth and operating efficiency gains. Notably, expense categories such as salaries, wages and benefits rose 11.
