Activist investor Starboard Value reportedly sees significant untapped potential in Skyworks Solutions, following the semiconductor company’s recently completed merger with Qorvo. According to reports citing people familiar with the matter, Starboard believes the market has yet to fully appreciate the financial benefits of the combination, particularly the potential for more than $500 million in annual cost savings and substantially higher operating margins. The merger, completed on October 5, 2026, brought together two major Apple suppliers facing pressure from the technology giant’s decision to develop more of its own chips. Starboard, which previously pushed for operational improvements at Qorvo, now has exposure to the combined business, with two directors it helped appoint at Qorvo joining the Skyworks board.
