Texas Instruments Incorporated’s 48% Profit Surge: Is The Semiconductor Recovery Sustainable?

 

Texas Instruments Incorporated reported second quarter 2026 revenue of $5.5 billion, reflecting a 13% sequential and 23% year-over-year increase. Both Analog and Embedded Processing segments showed growth, with Analog revenue up 26% year-over-year and Embedded Processing up 16%. The Other segment, however, declined 2% compared to the prior year. Revenue growth was broad-based across key end markets: industrial grew approximately 30% year-over-year and 10% sequentially; automotive increased mid-teens year-over-year and by upper single digits sequentially, driven in part by demand from electric and hybrid vehicles in China; data center demand doubled year-over-year and rose 20% sequentially; communications equipment increased year-over-year and sequentially; personal electronics remained flat year-over-year but showed upper single-digit sequential growth. Gross profit reached $3.4 billion, improving to 61% of revenue and increasing by 340 basis points sequentially. Operating expenses stood at $1 billion, consistent with expectations, and operating profit rose 48% year-over-year to $2.
