Oracle’s $90 Billion Revenue Target Signals A New Scale For Its Cloud Ambitions!

Oracle Corporation reported record first-quarter fiscal 2027 revenue of $19.3 billion, up 30% year-over-year. The quarter also delivered sequential revenue growth, notable because Q1 has historically been weaker following Q4. Growth was led by cloud infrastructure, where revenue increased 121% as Oracle added substantial new megawatt capacity and benefited from strong demand for compute and database services. Cloud applications revenue increased 10%, supported by Fusion and industry-specific applications. Non-GAAP operating income rose 31% to $8.2 billion, while non-GAAP EPS increased 30% to $1.92. Gross margin declined as Oracle absorbed costs associated with new data centers and rapidly expanding infrastructure revenue. However, operating margin remained around 42%, supported by cost controls, simplification initiatives, and operating leverage. Remaining performance obligations increased by $26 billion, driven largely by contracts involving customer prepayments or customer-supplied hardware. These structures support future revenue without requiring an immediate corresponding increase in Oracle’s capital expenditures.
