Fresenius Medical Care, a global leader in dialysis care, presented its second quarter 2024 earnings with a mix
of continued strategic progress and facing external challenges. During the earnings call, CEO, Helen Giza,
outlined the efforts and achievements in line with the company’s transformation and long-term strategic plans.
The focus was notably on driving better financial performance and moving toward the 2025 group margin targets.
In the U.S., Fresenius Medical Care experienced flat same-market treatment growth adjusted for the exit of less
profitable acute care contracts. Despite efforts to streamline admissions and decrease missed treatments, the
company’s performance was impacted by higher-than-expected mortality rates due to an extended influenza
season and a rise in COVID-19 cases.
