Hexcel Is Not Just An Airbus Story — Boeing’s 787 & 737 MAX Drive Expansion!
Hexcel Corporation reported second quarter 2026 sales of $529 million, marking an 8% increase year-over-year, primarily driven by a robust recovery in commercial aerospace production. The commercial aerospace segment, accounting for approximately two-thirds of sales, saw an 18-19% rise, fueled by higher volumes on key wide-body platforms such as the Airbus A350 and Boeing 787, alongside growth in narrow-body aircraft including the Boeing 737 MAX, Airbus A320, and A220. Despite increasing volumes, the company maintained gross margins at 26.1%, up from 22.8% in Q2 2025, benefiting from improved operating leverage and price realization, resulting in an adjusted operating margin of 13.9%, up significantly from 11.1% a year prior. The Defense, Space & Other segment, representing about one-third of sales, experienced an 8% decline associated with the strategic divestment of industrial businesses and the cessation of operations at the Leicester, UK site.
