Darden Restaurants has delivered a strong start to its fiscal year 2026, with results exceeding expectations in both top-line sales and earnings growth. Key positives include impressive same-restaurant sales and traffic growth across three of the company’s four segments. Olive Garden, a flagship brand, outshone other segments with a 5.9% increase in same-restaurant sales, driven by menu innovations and the success of its first-party delivery partnership with Uber Direct. The addition of a Create Your Own Pasta offering and successful limitedtime menu items played significant roles in attracting customers, particularly younger and more affluent ones. However, the costs linked with the delivery service and menu investments slightly pressured profit margins. Nonetheless, Olive Garden’s segment profit margin remained strong at 20.6%.
