Description

Nucor delivered mixed results for the quarter, with revenues falling short of Wall Street expectations but managed earnings beat. The company’s three reporting segments saw higher earnings in the quarter, with the largest gains arriving from steel mill segments that saw higher realized pricing. With strong demand from manufacturing, data centers, bridge construction, heavy equipment, energy, and automotive, the steel mills’ order book stays healthy. Within steel products, they had higher segment earnings. In the company’s sheet mill group, Nucor continues its ramp-up in the Nucor Steel Gallatin. The Brandenburg team in Kentucky has lately ramped up the production process at quite an advanced EAF plate mill worldwide. The construction of the company’s innovative rebar micro mill in North Carolina Lexington has been moving ahead quite well in the Bar Mill Group. The steel products segment of Nucor Corp continues generating strong earnings. During the quarter, Nucor Structures and Towers announced the location of its second new production facility in Indiana’s Crawfordsville. They also collaborated with ExxonMobil to capture, transport, and store carbon from the company’s DRI plant in Convent, Louisiana. We give Nucor a ‘Hold’ rating with a revised target price.
