State Street Corporation

SKU: STT-1 Category:

State Street Corporation delivered a mixed set of results for the quarter, with revenues below the analyst consensus. However, it managed to exceed Wall Street’s earnings expectations. Initially, the quarter started with a positive note for equity markets in July, only to take a sharply negative turn as it progressed. The economic landscape was marred by declining economic data, intensified by global central bank rate hikes and investor concerns regarding prolonged high-interest rates and a looming economic recession. Despite these challenges, the third quarter was marked by relatively low volatility in the currency markets. State Street’s Alpha continued to gain traction, deepening existing mandates and securing two new Alpha mandate wins in the third quarter, including the company’s first Alpha for private markets mandate. Furthermore, State Street laid out strategic focus areas for its investment services franchise, aiming to seize opportunities in key regions and product areas and fully realize the State Street Alpha value proposition. The company demonstrated its commitment to increasing market share and rejuvenating revenue growth by improving core back-office custody sales performance, thus positioning itself for a brighter future. In front-office software and data businesses, CRD continued to perform well. Global Advisors also achieved notable success.
